Tenerife from Canada: Direct Flights and Where to Stay

Trade the Canadian winter for the green north of Tenerife. With non-stop winter flights announced from Toronto and Montréal, your ultimate retreat in the Canary Islands is closer than ever. Here is how to plan the trip, and where to stay once you land.

Non-stop flights from Canada to Tenerife

For winter 2026–27, Air Canada announced non-stop flights to Tenerife South Airport (TFS):

  • From Toronto (YYZ): twice a week, from late October to the end of April.
  • From Montréal (YUL): once a week, from late October to late April.

Flights are overnight and scheduled to land in the morning, so you can start your holiday on the day you arrive. Schedules can change, so check the latest times with Air Canada before you book.

Why stay in the north of Tenerife?

These flights land in the south, but the north of the island has a charm of its own: greener landscapes, a calmer pace, and towns full of character. Wander the lively streets of Puerto de la Cruz, browse the farmers’ market in Tacoronte, or simply unwind by the pool in La Quinta.

Getting from Tenerife South Airport to the north

La Quinta is around one hour’s drive from Tenerife South Airport, and a rental car makes it easy to explore the island at your own pace. Once you have booked, we will send you clear directions to your door.

Arriving in the morning? Ask about early check-in

After an overnight flight, nobody wants to wait around. Ask us about early check-in when you book, so you can settle in sooner. Remember that morning departures mean an early start on your way home, so allow plenty of time for the drive back to the airport.

Before you travel

  • Entry rules: Canadian tourists do not currently need a visa for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the Schengen area. Passport validity rules apply, and the EU’s EES and ETIAS systems affect travellers to Europe. Rules can change, so always check the Government of Canada’s advice for Spain before you go.
  • Time difference: in winter, Tenerife is five hours ahead of Toronto and Montréal.
  • Currency: Spain uses the euro.
